Hello Carol. We don't know what will happen to PRH's Women & Children's building if specialist care is transferred to Royal Shrewsbury. Some space would be required for normal maternity as you suggest but we don't know if this will continue inside the Women & Children's building.
Hello Mary. Some of the money will come from the sale of land but we don't know what land they intend to sell. However, the majority of funding will come from a loan.
This hospital was built for the people of Telford knowing that it was and is a growing town. Why should the people of Wales be included in Shropshire hospitals when they have a good one in Wrexham. ? By the way I have nothing against the Welsh people as I used to do business with them. But surely it would be better for the Welsh Assembly to look after their own as we in Telford want to do.. As far as the present situation is concerned Option 2 will be the best one in my opinion.
I heard on the radio that some money would come from the sale of NHS land. The Gov't now allows the NHS to sell land to support capital spending, then rent the land back. Did wonder if that could be what might happen at PRH if we have planned care which is I believe the profitable bit.
I much appreciated your latest update on costings for Option 1 & Option 2 - it made for very interesting reading. I cannot believe that in any way private finance can be a sensible idea particularly after recent happenings!! I have never read or heard what would happen to the PRH Women & Children's building if that specialist care is transferred to the Royal Shrewsbury - would the same space be required for just 'normal' maternity?
How much will the Welsh contribute to this project.
