‘NHS4All’ follows on the ‘PRH4Me’ campaign to get the most and the best for the money as part of the Future Fit consultation

Join our campaign for a better NHS for everybody

NHS4All is campaigning for a better NHS for everybody.

We think that if Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin together with Mid Wales have £312m to spend on hospitals, let’s get the best and most for the money.

NHS4All started out life as PRH4Me, Telford & Wrekin Council’s campaign to protect services at Princess Royal Hospital. It was very successful and attracted more than 33,000 pledges of support.

The campaign was launched before Future Fit has outlined its two preferred options. Now we know the options it’s time to ensure that the best choice is made for everybody and we think that Option 2 is better for all.

Why we think Option 2 is better for all

Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Mid Wales have been told it has £312million to spend on hospitals. But Option 2 will cost the NHS a massive £63 million pounds less.

Just think of what else the NHS could get for that. They could spend it on a second state of the art cancer centre. Our preferred option would give the NHS an AT LEAST an extra £3.3 million each year that they could spend on more doctors and nurses.

Situating planned care in Shrewsbury would be better because more than half of people having planned operations live nearer to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This would give people in Mid Wales and the west of Shropshire better access to their planned operations.

Two thirds of all children and pregnant women admitted to hospital live nearer to the Princess Royal Hospital. As we have long said, it makes no sense to move the Women’s and Children’s Centre from where it was built nearly four years ago at a cost of £28 million.
